Hanuman- Incarnation of Lord Shiva<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Apsara “Anjana”<\/strong>, who lived in heaven was cursed by a sage<\/strong> that her face will become like a monkey whenever she falls in love. So she pleaded with Lord Brahma<\/strong> and by his grace she takes birth on earth as a human<\/strong>. Anjana later falls in love with Kesari, the king of the apes<\/strong>, and they get married. Anjana, an ardent devotee of Lord Shiva<\/strong> performed hard penance<\/strong> to please him as she wanted a son like him in qualities as well as strengths<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Some days later, during the Putrakameshti Yagna<\/strong> by King Dasaratha<\/strong>, the sage offered him kheer to feed all his wives. Some of Rani Kaushalya’s kheer<\/strong> was taken away by an eagle, which at the signal of Lord Shiva<\/strong>, was dropped by Vayu Dev<\/strong> in the hands of Anjana while meditating. Anjana offered it to Lord Shiva, who considered to have eaten the Prasad, resulted in Anjana giving birth to Pawanaputra Hanuman, an incarnation of Lord Shiva!\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Fun Facts about Hanuman<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
According to Valmiki’s Ramayana, one morning in his childhood, Hanuman was hungry and saw the rising red-colored sun. Mistaking it for a ripe fruit, he leapt up to eat it.<\/strong> In one version of the Hindu legend, the king of gods Indra intervened and struck Hanuman with his thunderbolt.<\/strong> It hit Hanuman on his jaw, and he fell to the earth dead with a broken jaw. According to the Ramayana (section 4.65), Hanuman’s father Vayu (air) became upset and withdrew all the air on Earth. The lack of air created immense suffering to all living beings. This led lord Shiva to intervene and resuscitate Hanuman,<\/strong> which in turn prompted Vayu to return to the living beings. As the mistake was done by the god Indra, he grants Hanuman a wish that his body would be as strong as Indra’s Vajra<\/strong>, and that his Vajra can also not harm him.<\/strong> Along with Indra other gods have also granted him wishes: the God Agni granted Hanuman a wish that fire won’t harm him; God Varuna<\/strong> granted a wish for Hanuman that water<\/strong> won’t harm him;<\/strong> God Vayu granted a wish for Hanuman that he will be as fast as windand the wind won’t harm him. Lord Brahma<\/strong> also granted Hanuman a wish that he can move to any place where he cannot be stopped; Lord Vishnu also grants Hanuman a weapon named “Gada” (Mace)<\/strong>.
