  1. Jesus last name wasn\u2019t Christ:<\/strong> We hear \u201cJesus Christ\u201d so often that it\u2019s easy to think that Christ is Jesus\u2019 surname. It\u2019s not. In first-century Palestine, people didn\u2019t have last names. Christ<\/strong> comes from the Greek for\u00a0<\/strong>Christos<\/strong>,<\/em>\u00a0which means \u201canointed one.<\/strong>\u201d<\/li>\n
  2. Jesus was not an only child.<\/b> It might be hard to imagine what it was like to be Jesus\u2019 little brother or sister, but Mary and Joseph had other children<\/a> after Jesus’ miraculous birth<\/li>\n
  3. At the age of 12 years, Jesus went missing while traveling with His family.<\/b> Jesus and his family had traveled to Jerusalem for Passover and afterwards the family left Jesus behind. It took his family a day to realize he was missing and after a few days, they found him teaching in the temple<\/a>. Scary losing the Son of God!<\/li>\n

Jesus wasn\u2019t white.<\/b> Paintings show Jesus as a tall, white, Scandinavian guy with a beard, Jesus was actually of Jewish descent and would have been a guy with dark skin and shaggy dark hair. Therefore, his appearance may have been drastically different than what we often imagine<\/li>\n
  5. Jesus had humble beginnings.<\/b>\u00a0Born into a\u00a0carpenter’s family<\/a>, Jesus came from a poor, day-laborer home. This means Jesus would have known what it was like to live in poverty and have hunger and need<\/li>\n
  6. Jesus started his ministry later in life,\u00a0around the age of 30 years<\/a>.<\/b> He actually went through normal experiences growing up as a baby, small child, teenager, and young adult<\/li>\n
  7. Women helped fund Jesus\u2019 ministry.<\/b>\u00a0Jesus had an incredible respect for women and even\u00a0helped a woman who was about to be stoned to death<\/a>. Not only did Jesus show us how to treat women, but women actually helped fund his ministry.\u00a0Luke 8<\/a> talks about women who followed Jesus and his disciples and supported them through their own means<\/li>\n
  8. Jesus came to Earth <\/b>to experience life as a human<\/strong> and empathize with us<\/a>. He experienced heartache, rejection, deception, loss, sickness, and death, just like us.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
