Rama- Seventh Avatar of Lord Vishnu

Lord Rama is considered to be the 7th incarnation of Lord Vishnu in 10 incarnations. Before Lord Rama, Lord Vishnu avatars are Matsya (fish), Kurma (tortoise), Varaha (boar), Narasimha (man and lion), Vamana (dwarf), and Parshurama while later as Krishna, Buddha, and Kalki (to be incarnate).

Birth Of Devi Sita

The legend behind Devi Sita’s birth is divine and supernatural. She did not emerged from a mothers’s womb, rather she appeared miraculously in a furrow, while king Janaka was ploughing the field as part of Vedic ritual in the kingdom of Videhas (also known as Mithila), an ancient Indian kingdom in late Vedic India.

Lakshmana- A loyal Brother

Laxmana, was the younger brother of Prince Rama and his loyalist in the Hindu epic Ramayana. He is also known by other names – Saumitra, Ramanuja and Bharatanuja. He was the twin of Shatrughna.

Lakshmana served Rama and Sita reverently during the exile. In Panchavati, Lakshmana also built a hut for Rama and Sita to live in. Lakshmana cut off Ravana’s sister Surpanakha’s nose in anger when she tried to seduce Rama and insulted Sita. He played an important role in the war with Ravana and slew Ravana’s sons Indrajit and Atikaya.

Hanuman- Devotee to Lord Rama

Lord Hanuman was greatest devotee of Lord Rama. A particular incident was when Sita put sindoor on her forehead, Hanuman asked her why. To this, she replied that since she is the wife and companion of Lord Rama, the sindoor was a sign of her unconditional love and respect. Hanuman then covered his entire body with sindoor to prove his love for Lord Rama. Lord Rama was really impressed by this and granted a boon that those who worshiped Lord Hanuman with sindoor would see all their difficulties go away.

Ravana- The Great Scholar

Ravana, the Scholar, well versed with Ayurveda, Astrology, esoteric practices and black magic was a master of many sciences. He knew 64 different kinds of arts and had a deep understanding of the Vedas. With years of penance and dedication, Ravana was said to have become so mighty that he could actually control the sunrise and sunset. Once he captured all the nine planets and vehemently made all of them to be in lagna bhava to make Meghanada, his son, the greatest of all. Ravana was a master of tantra vidya and created optical illusions of thoughts while fighting his enemies. He wrote “Ravana Samhita” an excellent compilation of his scholarly works
